The start of Southern Hauntspitality
One night while ghost touring around downtown Raleigh, NC we were told a story about how the Capitol Building had been burned to the ground because it was disgustingly filled to the brim with manure from the invading Union soldiers using it as a stable. According to the tour guide, the building location was then moved to a different spot that was deemed more suitable. As avid history buffs, we went home to research the story only to find out that it was just that, a story. While doing our research we found that fact is indeed stranger than fiction, and felt the true story about the Raleigh capitol building must be told, along with all the other haunted histories in the South.
Southern Hauntspitality is for anyone that wants the true stories behind the paranormal. We enjoy analyzing the myths, legends, and historical evidence we are able to dig up and relay to you, our listeners.
Thanks and hope you enjoy!

Unlike Blake, I was not born and raised in the South. I moved to North Carolina from Indiana in 2014, which is how I met Blake. I have lived here ever since.

Growing up I always enjoyed Halloween, haunted houses, and scary movies. Admittedly, I didn't start getting into ghost stories as much until I met Blake. In our early days of dating we did two ghost tours together, both in Wilmington, NC, and I was hooked. Since then, we have done a number of ghost tours together throughout the South and beyond.

I will say that I am the skeptic of this duo. While I love a good ghost story or legend, I'm always analyzing, probably over analyzing (virgo here), every story to see if the details check out.

Aside from being a virgo, I'm educated and trained as a scientist, so I approach every story I research with a critical eye. That said, I try not to let my affinity for hard facts and details get in the way of a good story. After all, some things are just hard to explain. Fact or purely legend, a good story is a good story, and I try to keep that in mind as I share my stories with you.

I have always enjoyed spooky stories, possibly from my mother's influence on me, as we would never miss an episode of Americas Most Wanted. The unexplained episodes were always my favorite. Also Dateline and 20/20.
You could say I was raised to be a murderino thanks to my mother! (Shout out to MFM, a favorite podcast of mine)
Once I was out of school, history that I was interested in became much more interesting, especially the local ghost tours. I am from Wilmington, NC and have been on at least a dozen local tours around my hometown.
Thankfully, my creepy interests did not scare away my husband, who embraced my love of the macabre and obsession with ghost tours.
